Level 1

Life-Skills and Obedience

Our Level 1 Life Skills and Obedience Course is designed to make everyday life with your dog easier, calmer, and more enjoyable. If you’re dealing with things like being pulled down the street on walks, constant jumping on guests, barking at the wrong moments, or feeling like your dog just isn’t listening, this course gives you practical tools to change that.

You’ll learn how to get reliable responses to essential commands like “sit,” “stay,” “come,” and “leave it,” so you can feel more in control in real-life situations—whether that’s walking past distractions, having visitors over, or simply relaxing at home. Loose-leash walking and polite behaviour around people and other dogs are key parts of the program, helping turn stressful outings into something you can actually look forward to.

Classes are run in a supportive group setting, giving your dog the chance to learn how to focus and behave around everyday distractions. At the same time, you won’t be left trying to fit your dog into a one-size-fits-all approach. We actively help you work through the specific challenges you’re facing, even if they go beyond the standard course content, so you leave with solutions that apply directly to your life.

Whether you’re starting with a new puppy or trying to get things back on track with an older dog, this course helps you build clear communication, set realistic expectations, and create a dog you can confidently take out into the world—and enjoy living with at home.

Key skills in this class:

These core skills inform the course outline, but each class will be specific to the dogs present. We will help you achieve your goals while giving you and your dog a well-rounded skillset to take on any challenge you are facing!

Level 2

Life-Skills and Obedience

This course builds on the foundations established in Level 1, helping you turn basic skills into behaviours you can rely on in everyday life. If you’ve found that your dog listens at home but struggles when you’re out, needs constant reminders, or only responds when you have food in hand, this is where those gaps start to close.

In Level 2, we focus on improving your dog’s response to both verbal and hand cues, so you’re not repeating yourself or relying on exaggerated signals to be understood. You’ll work on increasing duration (holding behaviours for longer), distance (responding when you’re further away), and distractions (listening even when something more interesting is happening), so your dog becomes more consistent and dependable in real-world situations.

We also guide you through reducing reliance on lures, helping your dog respond without needing to see food every time. This means smoother, more natural communication and a dog that listens because they understand what’s expected—not just because you’re holding a treat. As with Level 1, we continue to support you with the specific challenges you’re facing, so you’re not just practicing exercises—you’re actively improving the parts of daily life that matter most to you.

Level 3

Life-Skills and Obedience

This course builds on everything you and your dog have already learned, with a clear focus on tightening up reliability and consistency so those skills hold up wherever you go. It’s for owners who are close to where they want to be, but still notice the small cracks—commands that are a bit slow, behaviours that fall apart around certain distractions, or moments where their dog makes their own decisions instead of following through.

The goal here is to turn “mostly good” into dependable. We work on refining all previously learned behaviours so your dog responds promptly, maintains focus, and follows through even when there’s more going on around them. That means fewer repeated cues, less second-guessing, and more confidence that your dog will do what you ask the first time—whether you’re at home, out on a walk, or around other people and dogs.

By the end of the course, you’re not just practicing obedience—you’re living with it. You’ll have a dog that is easier to manage in public, more predictable in day-to-day situations, and one you can take out without worrying about how they’ll behave. As always, we continue to work with you on the specific challenges you’re facing, so the end result isn’t just polished skills, but a dog that fits more seamlessly into your life.
