What are half and half days?

In addition to our regular Rest & Relaxation Days, we also offer a half daycare, half rest day option for dogs who benefit from a balance of activity and downtime. This flexible dog care service allows your dog to enjoy the social, enrichment, and exercise benefits of dog daycare while also having dedicated time to relax, recharge, and settle comfortably throughout the day.

This option is ideal for dogs who enjoy daycare but need extra support winding down after the excitement, or for those who benefit from a calm transition before joining group activities. By combining supervised play with structured rest, your dog can enjoy a more comfortable and balanced day tailored to their individual needs, helping them avoid becoming overtired while still making the most of their time with us.

For owners, it means peace of mind knowing your dog is getting the right mix of stimulation and relaxation, rather than spending the entire day on the go. If your dog isn’t suited to a full day of play but you’re still busy with work or other commitments, this service offers the perfect middle ground—keeping them engaged, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away.

FAQ’s

Not every dog enjoys or benefits from a highly active day. Some dogs prefer a quieter environment, while others may simply need a place to rest comfortably while their owners are at work or managing other commitments.

No. Rest & Relaxation Days are designed to provide a comfortable, low-pressure environment rather than simply housing dogs for the day.

Dogs have access to cosy crate setups with blankets and fresh water, regular breaks to toilet and stretch their legs, and ongoing supervision from our team (which sometimes includes sneaky cuddles). If you are uncomfortable with your dog being in a crate, we have comfortable beds on tether points for them to settle at instead.

There is also a dedicated relaxation room featuring calming music and aromatherapy, providing a quiet space away from most dog traffic. The goal is to create an environment where dogs can genuinely settle and relax rather than remaining constantly stimulated.

Many owners worry that their dog will be bored without constant activity, but for dogs that benefit from downtime, a calm and predictable day can be exactly what they need. Instead of returning home overstimulated or unsettled, owners can look forward to picking up a dog that has spent the day resting comfortably and being attentively cared for.

Whether your dog requires medication, scheduled meals, or simply extra attention due to their circumstances, our goal is to provide attentive care throughout the day.

This allows owners to focus on work, appointments, and other responsibilities with confidence, knowing their dog is safe, comfortable, and being looked after by experienced staff.

The goal of Rest & Relaxation Days is to provide dogs with a safe, comfortable environment where they can genuinely rest and relax while receiving professional care. Owners may notice improvements such as a better ability to self-settle, calmer behaviour around people and dogs, greater comfort resting in a crate, and a dog that appears calm and well-rested after their day.

For many owners, one of the biggest benefits is the peace of mind that comes from knowing their dog has spent the day in a supportive environment rather than being left alone or struggling to settle. Instead of rushing home wondering how their dog has coped, they can collect a dog that has been supervised, cared for, and given the opportunity to enjoy a calm and comfortable day.
