Excursion Academy is a 4 week course where you will drop your dog in at ABT in the morning to attend a day of exploration and training!
During their day, our behavioural trainers will work one on one with your dog to help them practice manners, training skills, work on confidence or whichever other behaviours you are having trouble with. They will later get some passive training or extra one on one time to polish up on other life-skills. Each week the location is different, the only week at ABT is the first week to test the dog’s suitability for the program and help them with some adaption training skills. After each session you will receive a detailed report card explaining what we did with your dog accompanied with videos and photos.

Excursion Academy offers more than just training; it’s an adventure that helps your dog generalise their skills in diverse environments while building their confidence. Our expert trainers provide regular updates and practical tips, enabling you to continue their training at home and in new environments. Tailored to fit your individual goals or based on our proven training plan, the day at Excursion Academy balances training with real-world exposure and enrichment activities, addressing all your dog’s needs.
Each participant in Excursion Academy is recommended to have a prior service or session booked with us, so that we are familiar with them and can tailor the experience to their specific needs. If you are not an existing client you will need to attend one casual visit in Academy to assess your dogs suitability, allowing us to observe the dog in a controlled environment before transitioning to real-world environments. Should the initial week show your dog might not be ready for this dynamic setting, we will find an alternative service for them more suited to their current stage of training and can work towards this as a future goal. This approach ensures that every dog can enjoy and benefit from the comprehensive training experiences that ABT offers and can learn at a pace that’s comfortable for them.
