Lead skills training – for a dog that pulls on lead

Description

Learn how to train your adult dog to walk nicely on a loose lead, eliminating pulling and other unruly behaviors. With our expert tips, you’ll have a well-behaved dog you can proudly take out in public as well as eliminating embarrassing and difficult lead pulling behaviours making it enjoyable to take your dog out again.

This module includes 5 instructional videos:

  1. Foundations for Lead Training: Essential tips and tricks to get started, plus recommended equipment to speed up the process.

  2. Lead training equipment: Understanding the types of equipment available to help eliminate lead pulling skills, understanding how to use them and deciding what may be most helpful for you and your dogs individual circumstances.

  3. Transferring Skills to New Environments: Learn how to help your dog apply loose lead walking in different and exciting environments for consistent behavior. Starting with the first environment being the backyard. The backyard is the first of the distracting environment to help build your dogs skills and ability to listen and understand the expectations regardless of their surroundings.

  4. Taking lead training to the streets, as we move to unpredictable environments we begin to challenge our dogs and our skills more with a lot of unknown and unpredictable distractions, it helps to know how to navigate theses challenges to still achieve success.

  5. Lastly is how to gradually increase the level of distraction, over time building adversity and high levels of reliability in your dogs new nice lead walking skills.
