Doggy DayCare Adelaide
Doggy Daycare with Enrichment, Play, and Supervision
Rest days with Enrichment and Guided Downtime
If you’re not sure about daycare but need your dog looked after for the day or have other reasons you want them exposed to dogs in a controlled environment, our rest and relaxation days have you covered.
Rest days are especially helpful for dogs who need to be cared for but also need a break from constant play to reduce over-stimulation and exhaustion.
During these days the dogs spend their day in our relaxation room with calming aromatherapy and music in the background. If you are working on desensitisation, they may be a little closer to traffic throughout the day instead. They are given regular toilet breaks and monitoring along with enrichment and chews to occupy them during their day.
For dogs with separation anxiety we can practice short amounts of time away from the sight of people, gradually building their separation tolerance in a controlled manner.
Rest days can also be during recovery from a procedure, when on heat and unable to play with others, self-settling and self-regulation training (especially if they are excessive barkers) or if you just don’t feel ready to leave your beloved pup home alone yet.
Your options don’t just have to be the highly exciting and stimulating environment of daycare or being alone at home. At ABT+ we are for every dog, including those who just need a little support to settle and rest while you’re at work.
Our daycare includes:
- All socialisation and interactions are monitored by our experienced behavioural trainers who are able to ensure appropriate dog interaction and learning as well as making sure they have a fun day out.
- During our doggy daycare, dogs and puppies also learn self-control, how to read other dogs body language and appropriate play behaviour.
- A puppy’s critical developmental period is between 8 to 16 weeks of age. This time is when your puppy should be exposed to a variety of stimuli (people, dogs, environments, sounds, textures, situations, etc.), to develop normal physiological, psychological and social capacities. We provide impotant guidance and real experience during this critical period in a safe environment. This leads to better behaviour and development in the future.
- Puppies and dogs get to socialise with a variety of dog breeds, ages, sizes and activity levels as well as being exposed to different objects and sounds. By providing plenty of opportunities for your puppy to be socialised and exposed to different environments we can help to ensure your puppy grows into a well-adjusted adult that relates well to other dogs, other animals, and people.
- We have both an outdoor and indoor area so we can continue to operate rain, hail or shine! If the weather is bad outside, you can be sure your pooch will run around and play, ensuring you get a tired dog at the end of the day!
- Your dog will get to play with interactive toys and equipment, receive some manners training, socialise with dogs, play games and have quiet time when they get tired (and some cuddles from us of course).
- When you pick up your dog, you will receive feedback from the trainers on how your dog went that day. We are open and transparent, identifying potential issues early and making a plan with you to address the behaviour before it grows.
- For young puppies or dogs that need some break time during their day we also offer half & half days where your pup will play all morning then spend the afternoon napping in our relaxation room. We highly recommend this for young pups that need their downtime.
- Bookings are essential, we require at least 24 hours’ depending on availability. To book in, call, email or send us a message with your dog’s name, breed and your contact information.
- Fully airconditioned indoor spaces
- Large and interactive outdoor space

FAQ’s
What makes this doggy daycare different from others in Adelaide?
Our daycare is run by qualified behavioural trainers, which means your dog isn’t just being supervised, they’re learning the entire time they’re with us.
That matters if you’ve ever worried about your dog picking up bad habits, getting overwhelmed, or just coming home more chaotic than when they left. Instead, your dog is guided through play, socialisation, and downtime in a way that builds better behaviour.
For you, that looks like a dog who comes home happier, calmer, and easier to live with, not just tired.
Will my dog just play all day, or are they actually learning something?
Your dog will absolutely have fun, but the key difference is that learning is built into everything they do.
Every group is monitored and guided by trainers, helping your dog develop better manners, social skills, and emotional control.
So instead of chaotic play, your dog is learning how to:
- Read other dogs appropriately
- Settle when needed
- Respond better in stimulating environments
The result? A dog who doesn’t just burn energy—but comes home more balanced and easier to handle.
Can you help dogs with anxiety, reactivity, or behaviour issues in daycare?
Yes, this is a big part of what makes our daycare different.
Because the team is experienced in behaviour, we can identify early signs of stress, anxiety, or reactivity and adjust accordingly.
For owners, this can mean:
- Less worrying about how your dog will cope
- More confidence leaving your dog for the day
- Gradual improvements in how your dog handles the world
Instead of avoiding situations, you’re helping your dog learn to cope with them.
If we spot concerning behaviour, we may recommend other services such as our Daycare Training Academy or Behavioural Rehabilitation Program, but rest assured that we will never give up on you and your dog.
My dog has been rejected from other daycares, can they still come?
In most cases, yes. If your dog isn’t ready for daycare, we may recommend a service such as our Behavioural Rehabilitation Program, which is a great way to get your dog developing the skills they need to enjoy daycare and have fun.
We understand that not every dog fits into a typical daycare environment. Some dogs need more guidance, structure, or the right group setup to feel comfortable and succeed.
Because we specialise in behaviour and carefully manage interactions, we can often work with dogs who need extra support and help them learn how to enjoy their day in a safe, balanced group.
For owners, this can be a huge relief—finally having a place where your dog is understood, supported, and set up to succeed, rather than turned away.
Will my dog be safe around other dogs?
All groups are closely monitored by experienced behavioural trainers, ensuring dogs are guided into appropriate and positive interactions.
Dogs aren’t just left to “figure it out”. We actively manage the environment to support safe play and learning.
This means you can drop your dog off knowing they’re not just being watched, but properly guided, reducing the risk of negative experiences and helping build better social skills over time.
What if my dog gets overwhelmed or overstimulated during the day?
Not every dog benefits from constant play, which is why we include structured downtime and rest periods as part of the day.
Dogs are given opportunities to settle, relax, and reset in a calm environment, helping them avoid burnout or stress.
For many owners, this is the difference between:
- A dog that comes home wired and restless
- And a dog that comes home calm, satisfied, and ready to relax
Is daycare suitable for puppies?
Yes, daycare can play an important role during your puppy’s early development.
Our puppy and small dog group has their own space. They can see the bigger dogs, but will be playing with dogs more appropriate for their size and energy levels.
Puppies are exposed to a variety of dogs, environments, and experiences in a controlled and supervised setting, which helps them develop confidence and appropriate social skills.
This can make a big difference later on, helping you raise a dog that is:
- More comfortable around others
- Easier to take out in public
- Less likely to develop problem behaviours
Will I get feedback on how my dog is going?
Yes, when you pick up your dog, you’ll receive feedback from the trainers about their day. On their very first day you will also recieve a report card by email during the day so you can rest assured, with photos and comments from their trainer showing how much fun they’re having!
We value transparency, so if anything stands out, good or challenging, you’ll be given guidance on what it means and what you can do moving forward.
This means you’re not left guessing. You’ll have a clearer understanding of your dog and feel more confident in how to support them outside of daycare.
My dog can't go into daycare, can you still watch them?
Yes, if your dog isn’t suited to a full day of play, there are options like rest and relaxation days.
These are ideal for dogs who:
- Need a calmer environment
- Are recovering, overwhelmed, or easily overstimulated
- Need help learning to settle
They still receive care, enrichment, and monitoring, just in a way that suits their individual needs.
Dogs can enjoy a full rest day, or do a half & half day with some playtime in the morning and then rest in the afternoon. This is particularly great for puppies learning how to recognise when they’re tired.
How will daycare improve my everyday life with my dog?
Daycare isn’t just about filling your dog’s day, it’s about changing what life feels like with them.
Instead of coming home to a dog that’s still full of energy or struggling with behaviour, you can enjoy:
- More relaxed evenings
- Easier walks
- A dog that settles better at home
For many Adelaide owners who have already joined us, it means finally feeling like their dog fits into their lifestyle, rather than having to plan their life around their dog’s behaviour.
