Daycare and Dip

Dog Swimming
Daycare and dip

Drop your dog off for a safe and fun day at the pool!

Daycare and Dip combines the benefits of dog daycare with the excitement of a supervised dog swimming experience, giving your dog a fun, enriching day that supports both their physical and mental wellbeing. While enjoying their usual daycare routine, socialisation, and guidance, your dog also gets the opportunity to explore the water in a safe and supportive environment.

As part of the experience, dogs head to Gumhaven K9 Aquaplay with their trusted ABT trainer. The pool is booked exclusively for ABT dogs, creating a calm, controlled setting free from unfamiliar dogs and public distractions. This allows your dog to relax, build confidence, and enjoy swimming at their own pace.

Safety is at the heart of every session. Each dog is fitted with a life jacket and closely supervised by our experienced behavioural trainers, who provide encouragement and support throughout the swim. Whether your dog already loves the water or is trying dog swimming for the first time, they are guided every step of the way.

The heated 30-degree pool makes swimming comfortable year-round and provides a low-impact form of exercise that helps build muscle, improve fitness, and support mobility. This can be especially beneficial for dogs with joint stiffness, arthritis, or mobility challenges.

After their swim, dogs can stretch their legs and unwind in the fully fenced outdoor area before returning to ABT for a treat and some well-earned rest. They head home happy, relaxed, and fulfilled after a day packed with exercise, enrichment, and fun.

Places are strictly limited and fill quickly. Book your dog’s Daycare and Dip experience today and give them an extra-special day of swimming, exercise, and adventure.

Key features

What you will see after

Enrichment galore

Swimming is an easy and quality way to provide enrichment to your dog. This activity targets almost every type of enrichment your dog needs, depending on their breed.

Physical enrichment

Swimming obviously has a physical component, providing exercise for your dog’s muscles as well as their aerobic fitness. As a low-impact form of exercise, this option is great for older dogs, those with injury or pain, or dogs trying to lose weight and struggle to meet their physical enrichment needs otherwise.

sensory enrichment

New sights, sounds, and sensory experiences are enriching and satisfying. The pool provides new experiences in the form of new smells, sights, sounds, and even new physical sensations for dogs who haven’t been swimming before. Even if you have a veteran swimmer, K9 Aquaplay’s murals and toys still provide novelty and enrichment.

social enrichment

Even if your dog is a regular with us, going to the pool with different dogs each time provides social enrichment for them. Being in a unique setting creates interesting and novel social experiences, even if your dog goes with their best friends.

occupational enrichment

If your dog is bred to be in the water, taking them to the pool can satisfy those deep-rooted working instincts. Every retriever, poodle, and water dog can benefit from the satisfaction of going back to their roots and playing in the water.
